Gosht (Lamb) Karahi

Gosht Karahi

Ingredients

1 Pound Baby Lamb 

1.5 tsp Salt 

3 tbsp fresh garlic ginger paste 

2 tbsp plain yogurt 

2 tsp coriander seeds

½ tsp red chili powder

1 tsp fennel seeds 

1 tsp cumin seeds 

1 onion 

2 medium sized tomatoes 

¼ tsp turmeric powder

½ cup of oil 

Handful of cilantro chopped 

½ seedless jalapeno 

Directions

  1. In a small bowl combine baby lamb with salt, garlic ginger paste, and yogurt - mix well and put in refrigerator for marination for 20-30 min (The longer the better)
  2. Grind coriander seeds, red chili powder, fennel seeds, cumin seeds together - you will use this powder to add to the lamb. 
  3. In a medium sized pan add oil, add chopped onion lengthwise and after it turns a transparent brown color add marinated lamb and sprinkle turmeric powder. 
  4. Sprinkle the grinded spices on top, and add chopped tomatoes. Mix together 
  5. Let the lamb cook for about 30-40 min on low medium heat or until tender. If you have a pressure cooker this will be even faster for you.
  6. Then add in chopped cilantro, mix together
  7. Add slices of seedless jalapeno on top.
