Mongolian Beef

Feeds 3-4 People 


1 Pound Flank Steak 

½ tsp of Black Pepper Powder 

1 Egg 

¼ Cup of Corn Starch 

1 tsp of Baking Soda 

¼ Cup of Soya Sauce 

¼ Cup of Sugar 

¼ Cup of Water 

½ Cup of Oil 

1 Bundle Green Onion 

1 Red Pepper 

8 Cloves Garlic 

1 tsp of Salt or To Taste

  1. In a Medium Sized Bowl, Add 1 tsp of Salt or to taste,  ¼ Cup Corn Starch, 1 Egg, ½ tsp of Black Pepper, and 1 tsp of Baking Soda with 1 Pound Mix Flank Steak. Make sure the Flank Steak is Cut into Medium Size Strips (¼ Slices).  Set Aside for about 15-20 min. 
  2. In another Bowl Add ¼ Cup Sugar, ¼ Cup Water, and ¼ Cup Soya Sauce and Mix Together. Set Aside 
  3. Heat ½ cup of oil in a small pan over medium low. Add Flank Steak pieces and cook for about 2-3 min on each side. They should be a dark brown color on both sides. Remove the Steak Pieces and Set Aside. 
  4. Remove oil from the pan and leave about 2 tbsp of Oil. Add 2 inch piece of Ginger and 8 Cloves of garlic and stir just until fragrant. Do this for about 1 min.  
  5. Add the Steak into the Pan and Cook on Medium Heat. Stir with the Garlic and Ginger Pieces. Do this for about 2-3 min. Once the Steak has been cooked combine with the  the Sauce from Step 2. 
  6. Mix everything Together and stir for about 2-3 min. Add 1 Bundle of Green Onions. (Green Onions should be Cut into Medium Sized Pieces). And add 1 Red Pepper. Cut as Desired. Mix Together and Cover for about 5 min so the Beef cooks from the inside.

*This Dish is best served with Fried Rice or White Rice.
